What is the effect of aliasing on a digital oscilloscope when displaying a waveform?
Pick an answer to check it.
Answer: A. A false, jittery low-frequency version of the waveform is displayed
When a digital scope samples too slowly, aliasing makes a false, jittery, lower-frequency version of the waveform appear. The scope is fooled into drawing a signal that is not really there.
Tip: Aliasing = fake low-frequency picture.
