Why are switching amplifiers more efficient than linear amplifiers?
Pick an answer to check it.
Answer: B. The switching device is at saturation or cutoff most of the time
A switching device wastes little power when fully on (saturation, low voltage) or fully off (cutoff, no current). It spends almost no time in between, where power is dissipated as heat.
Tip: On or off wastes little power.
