How can you join a digital repeater's “talkgroup”?

To join a talkgroup on a digital repeater, you program your radio with that group's ID or code. You don't register with a frequency coordinator or use a DTMF tone.
Tip: DMR radios are set up with a "codeplug" that holds talkgroup IDs.
