What is the purpose of a squelch function?
Pick an answer to check it.
Answer: B. Mute the receiver audio when a signal is not present
Squelch mutes the receiver's audio when no signal is present, so you don't hear constant hiss. When a strong enough signal arrives, the audio opens.
Tip: Set squelch just past where the hiss stops.
