What is the purpose of the notch filter found on many HF transceivers?
Pick an answer to check it.
Answer: B. To reduce interference from carriers in the receiver passband
A notch filter removes a very narrow slice of frequencies, which is ideal for knocking out a steady carrier or heterodyne tone in the receiver passband. It does not deal with impulse noise or splatter.
Tip: Notch out the whistle.
