How is squelch adjusted so that a weak FM signal can be heard?
Pick an answer to check it.
Answer: A. Set the squelch threshold so that receiver output audio is on all the time
Squelch silences the receiver when no signal is strong enough to open it. A weak signal may not open the squelch. To hear it, set the squelch threshold so that receiver output audio is on all the time (squelch fully open). Turning up the volume does not help because the squelch is still blocking the audio.
Tip: Weak signal? Open the squelch all the way.
